Art Deco Brooch to Ring Replica

Our client's original brooch inherited from her grandmother.

Our client came to us with her late mother’s brooch from the early 1900s. Set with antique old mine cut diamonds, the piece held deep sentimental value—but in its original form, she knew she wouldn’t wear it often.

As we inspected the brooch, we discovered it had already been altered once before. The center diamonds had originally belonged to a ring, which had been cut from its setting and soldered into the filigree frame of the Art Deco brooch.

The CAD renderings of the final design.

Because the filigree was too delicate to safely convert into a ring, we took inspiration from the brooch’s most striking details and collaborated with our CAD designer to sculpt a custom setting. The goal: to create a structurally sound design that would capture the essence of the original heirloom while being durable enough to pass down for generations.

The final, finished ring.

After a few rounds of CAD revisions—exploring both modern and traditional interpretations—our client ultimately chose the version that felt most antique and true to the brooch’s roots.

The final ring was cast in white gold, just like the original, with all the old mine cut diamonds set in the same pattern. A timeless statement she can wear often, remember her mother by, and one day pass along to her own daughters.
