The History:

These Victorian rabbit charms feature two distinct poses: one seated upright and the other captured mid-leap. Each miniature figure is decorated with small, round natural turquoise cabochons arranged across the body, with white enamel accents defining the ears, paws, and tail. These sweet bunnies are crafted in solid 18k gold settings and simple ring bails complete the designs. The sitting bunny features the original garnet cabochon eye, with the leaping bunny showing a restored diamond eye.

Animal motifs were particularly popular in Victorian jewelry, reflecting the period's fascination with nature, symbolism, and finely detailed miniature forms. Rabbits were traditionally associated with fertility, abundance, and good fortune, while turquoise was widely used in nineteenth-century sentimental jewelry for its distinctive blue coloration and symbolic associations with protection. These two charms combine the Victorian preference for naturalistic subjects with colorful gemstone and enamel detailing.
