It's meaning took on a new form throughout centuries, and the the horseshoe became known as a token meant to bring luck, love and protection to the wearer of the jewelry.  Horseshoes appeared in sentimental jewelry, such as wedding gifts, and were often set with gemstones especially diamonds to amplify the “luck” symbolism, and beauty of the piece.
