The History:

This victorian sterling silver brooch conversion features a traditional horseshoe and hoof design with raised nail details along its curved edges and a dimensional representation of the frog of a horse's hoof at its center. The polished outer horseshoe features seven "lucky" nails and contrasts with the softly textured, recessed background, emphasizing the anatomical details of the design. The frog is a triangular, flexible structure located on the underside of a horse's hoof, playing an important role in hoof function--which is shown in this horseshoe piece.

Horseshoes have long been regarded as symbols of good fortune and protection, appearing in jewelry and decorative objects for centuries. This pendant combines the familiar symbolism of the horseshoe with a more detailed representation of equine anatomy, creating a distinctive piece of equestrian jewelry that reflects both traditional craftsmanship and the enduring association between horseshoes and good luck.

This piece was originally made and sourced in England and shows wear consistent with age.

This piece measures 1.75" in height including the bail and just over 1.25" in width.
