Victorian Horseshoe and Riding Crop Pendant

Sale price$235.00

The History:

This converted Victorian equestrian brooch features a silver horseshoe accented with rosy gold-filled stud details and a riding crop arranged diagonally across its center. A twisted rope winds through the composition, creating an open, dimensional design with contrasting smooth and textured metalwork. The horseshoe features a "lucky" seven number of studs.

Horseshoes have long been associated with good fortune and protection, while riding crops and other equestrian motifs reflect the traditions of horseback riding and sporting life. These symbols frequently appeared in antique and vintage jewelry, particularly as charms and pendants commemorating personal interests or associations with horses. The combination of the horseshoe, riding crop, and twisted rope brings together several recognizable elements of equestrian imagery in a single decorative piece.

This piece was originally made and sourced in England and shows wear consistent with age.

This piece measures 2" in height and 1.25" in width.
