The child later reveals himself to be Jesus Christ and names Christopher the Patron Saint of Travelers. For centuries, images and motifs of Saint Christopher have been worn as pendants or charms—and placed on vehicles and other modes of transport—as symbols of protection, guidance, and safe passage.
