The History:

This striking converted Victorian horseshoe brooch features a beautifully simple sterling silver body with raised details. The pendant features seven "lucky" nails and is originally from the late 1800s.

Horseshoes were among the most beloved good luck symbols of the nineteenth century, worn as protective talismans and exchanged as tokens of affection, prosperity, and good fortune. Their popularity was particularly pronounced in Victorian England, where sentimental jewelry often incorporated familiar objects imbued with symbolic meaning. Traditionally, a horseshoe displayed with its ends pointing upward was believed to hold good luck within its curve, preventing fortune from escaping. With its substantial proportions, polished surface, and charmingly realistic details, this pendant is a wonderful example of the Victorian fascination with everyday objects transformed into meaningful keepsakes.

This piece was originally made and sourced in England and shows wear consistent with age.

This piece measures just over 1.5" in length including the bail and 1" in width.
