Art Deco Sterling Silver & Paste Swallow Pendant

The History:

This striking Art Deco pendant depicts a swallow in flight, its outstretched wings and elegantly forked tail capturing the graceful movement of the bird. Crafted in sterling silver, the swallow is adorned with sparkling individually set paste stones across its wings and body, while finely engraved details define its head, feathers, and tail. The elongated silhouette and sweeping lines reflect the Art Deco period's appreciation for streamlined forms, movement, and stylized representations of the natural world.

Swallows had long been associated with loyalty, safe passage, and the promise of returning home, making them a beloved motif in sentimental jewelry. Paste stones, glass gems backed in reflective foil, remained popular during the early twentieth century for its exceptional sparkle and versatility. The pendant combines the enduring symbolism of the swallow with the elegant, sculptural design characteristic of the Art Deco era.

This piece was originally made and sourced in England and shows wear consistent with age.

This piece measures 2.25" in length including the bail and 1.25" in width.

We recommend pairing this pendant with our Classic Gold Rolo Chain, Classic Silver Rolo Chain, Classic Slim Gold Omega Necklace, or Classic Small Gold Omega Necklace.
