This 9k solid gold Victorian trombone chain is crafted in solid 9k gold and features elongated rectangular links alternating with smaller, intricately detailed connecting links. Each shorter link incorporates a layered, twisted design that adds texture and dimension, contrasting with the smooth, open construction of the longer links. The elongated links bear individual gold hallmarks, and the chain retains its original T-bar and swivel Albert clasp.
Trombone chains were an established style of pocket watch chain during the Victorian period, with their distinctive elongated links offering an alternative to traditional curb chain construction. The T-bar was designed to pass through a waistcoat buttonhole, while the swivel clasp secured the pocket watch.
