Felicity 9k Heavy Curb Chain

The History:

This antique Albert chain from the early 1900s is crafted in solid 9k gold with a warm, rosy tone and features substantial, closely interlocking curb links. Each link bears an individual hallmark, a characteristic detail of many antique British gold chains that provides a record of the metal's fineness throughout the piece. The chain retains its original T-bar and swivel Albert clasp, traditional fittings used to secure pocket watches to waistcoats during the nineteenth century.

Curb chains were a common choice for Victorian watch chains, with their flattened, interlocking links creating a strong, flexible construction and a continuous pattern across the chain. The substantial proportions and softly rounded edges give this example a distinctive appearance, while the rosy gold color adds warmth to the traditional design.
