The History:

This Victorian decorative cable chain from the late 1800s is crafted in solid 10k gold and features a repeating pattern of interlocking links, each accented with pairs of raised gold beads. The double-beaded detailing creates a textured, dimensional surface, with the polished beads contrasting against the narrower connecting sections of the chain. The piece retains its original Albert swivel clasp, a traditional fastening used on nineteenth-century pocket watch chains.

Decorative cable chains were produced in a variety of link patterns during the Victorian period, incorporating details such as applied beads, engraved surfaces, and variations in link shape. This example combines the familiar construction of a cable chain with a more ornamental link design, offering an alternative to traditional plain or curb link chains. The chain can be worn independently or paired with antique pendants, lockets, and charms.

This piece was made and sourced in England.

This necklace measures 15.5" in length.
