Article: MARQUISE SAPPHIRE + DIAMOND RING SET

MARQUISE SAPPHIRE + DIAMOND RING SET

MARQUISE SAPPHIRE + DIAMOND RING SET

Our client's original heirloom rings from her grandmother.

Our client brought us two rings inherited from her grandmother wanting a design that was not only more modern, but felt more like "her" and something she could wear regularly.

The final CAD renderings of the paired rings.

Wanting to make the sapphire more modern than it's original and traditional north-south orientation in it's cocktail ring setting, we opted to flip it horizontal to set in an east-west setting. With a tapered knife edge going down each shoulder of the ring, the design gives a "barely there" illusion that's sleek and classic.

The 3D wax model of each ring for the client to try on before giving final approval.

We paired the sapphire ring with an eternity band set with diamonds graduating size, from large on top to small at the bottom, in a bezel setting. Our goal was to not only design this band to match up with the sapphire, but to gradually keep the curve broad enough where she could mix, match and stack it with other solitaire rings in the future.

Our client's final ring designs set in 14k white gold.

The client's final, finished rings turned out perfect for what she wanted: something modern, that didn't feel like an engagement ring, but still a design she could wear everyday and interchange with future stackable heirlooms down the road.
