A Mother's Engagement Ring Reimagined

Our client's original heirloom ring inherited from her mother with the center stone.

WATCH THE FULL DESIGN STORY HERE.

Our client came to us with her mother’s original platinum engagement ring—a piece she had worn daily, just like her mother. One day, after bumping her hand against a desk, she looked down to find the center diamond missing. Thankfully, she was able to recover the stone and brought both it and the original setting to us to see what could be done.

The CAD renderings of our client's final design before casting.

The platinum setting, worn thin from years of daily wear, was too damaged to rebuild. So, together, we decided to create a new platinum design—one that honored the spirit of the original but added a fresh perspective just for her.

We reimagined the layout with an east-west orientation for the diamonds and preserved the shoulder detail as a nod to the original design. The stones were set in open bezels, allowing light to pass through and giving the piece both brilliance and security.

The final, finished ring.

The final design felt like a natural evolution: a ring that paid tribute to its past, protected the heirloom diamonds, and made to be worn and loved every day.
