Della Deco Crescent Pendant
This one-of-a-kind necklace is composed of:
Sterling silver crescent moon dress pin from the late 1800 - early 1900s with crystal rhinestone details. This piece was found and sourced in England.
This necklace measures a standard 22” on 14k gold filled chain with the pendant measuring 3" in length and clasps with an antique watch fob clasp.
The crescent moon was an immensely popular symbol for Victorian jewelry lovers. It was a feminine symbol, celebrating the moon as a goddess and, by extension, embracing femininity. The crescent moon in jewelry also represented change due to the cycle and phases of the moon, as well as spirituality. Crescent moons were often featured or worn with stars, indicating direction and guidance.
