A single blossom hangs beneath a gently arching branch, while fine leaves and a subtle touch of green enamel lend the composition an almost painterly quality. The contrast between the dark background and luminous floral detailing recalls the decorative arts of the early twentieth century, when nature-inspired motifs were often interpreted with a newfound simplicity and elegance.

Lockets remained treasured personal possessions throughout this period, offering a discreet place to keep photographs or small mementos of loved ones.
