Fraternal Order Pendant
This one-of-a-kind necklace is composed of:
Victorian men’s watch fob pendant from the late 1800s featuring a Knight with the letters “F.C.B.” on each side. One side of the pendant shows a skull and cross bones, the other a book and dagger. This pendant originally came from a gentleman who was a member of The Knights of Pythias—a fraternal organization and secret society founded in Washington, D.C., on 19 February 1864. The letters “F.C.B.”—standing for Friendship, Charity, and Benevolence—represented pillars of character that each member was to live by and uphold.
Victorian gold filled watch fob clasp and toggle.
This necklace measures a standard 18” on a 14k gold filled chain. The pendant drops 2.5” from the necklace, with the pendant measuring 1.5” in length independently.
