The imagery in this stick pin was known and commonly found in Vanitas still life paintings throughout the Victorian Era. These still life scenes often portrayed skulls, candles, wilting flowers, and other various symbolic objects designed to remind the viewer of their mortality and of the worthlessness of worldly goods and pleasures.

This 14k gold filled bangle is a size LARGE measures a standard 7.75” in circumference.
