August Wedding Bracelet

August Wedding Bracelet

The History Lesson:

This gorgeous restored Victorian engagement (or wedding) bracelet dates back to 1882 and features an ornate center with three Baroque freshwater pearl details, engraved catch, and tassel end. This gold filled bracelet comes from a tradition centuries ago in which a groom would present his future bride with a set of bracelets: one to be worn at the beginning of their engagement and the second to be put on the day of her wedding. Women would often pass these down from daughter to daughter.

This engagement bracelet was lovingly engraved with the couple's wedding date: August 14th, 1882.

The woven mesh band measures 1/2" wide and the bracelet will fit up to an 8" wrist.
